Historical Trail Ride
60 minutes
Introductory Level – $125
Explore the beauty of Sacred Mountain Ranch while learning about Julian’s Gold Rush history, rare Coulter pines, and iconic Manzanita trees. This relaxed ride is perfect for beginners and those wanting a scenic, educational experience through the mountains.
Mindful Trail Ride
75 minutes
Introductory/Intermediate Level – $150
Guided by an equine professional and mindfulness coach, this calming ride helps you unwind from daily stress, slow your mind, and reconnect to the present moment. With the rhythm of your horse beneath you and the peaceful mountain setting around you, you’ll leave feeling grounded and restored.
Therapeutic Trail Ride
90 minutes
Introductory/Intermediate Level – $250
Co-facilitated by a mental health professional and equine coach, this trauma-informed ride combines horseback riding with guided reflection. You’ll set a grounding intention and experience emotional release and nervous system support within the healing presence of horses and nature.
Cowboy Ride
120 minutes
Introductory/Intermediate Level – $200
Go beyond the ride with a full cowboy adventure. Start at the stables grooming and tacking your horse while learning the basics of care, then head out on a guided trail through Sacred Mountain’s scenic paths. Afterward, untack and bathe your horse, ending the day with hands-on connection and gratitude. The ultimate ranch-life experience for anyone who’s dreamed of being a cowboy.

Pop-Up Trail Rides
Our Pop-Up Trail Rides are short horseback riding experiences designed for all ages. Depending on the location, they may be on a small circular trail, in an arena, or in a round pen—each spot offering something a little different. Locations include The Stables at Sacred Mountain Ranch, The Julian Watershed, U-Pick apple orchards, and other must-see spots in Julian. Think of it as a step up from a pony ride: approachable, fun, and a real horse experience for everyone!
